Ordering repeat prescriptions

It’s important to request your prescription up to 5 working days before you need your medicine. (not including weekends or bank holidays).

You might be able to ask your pharmacy directly for your medicine if your GP has set this up (repeat dispensing). If not, you’ll need to order your medicines through a repeat prescription from your GP surgery.

If you have any of the following conditions, before booking an appointment, please speak directly to your local pharmacist:

 
  • Ear ache – age 16 or over
  • Impetigo – 1 year and over
  • Infected Insect Bites- 1 year and over
  • Shingles – 18 year and over
  • Sinusitis – 12 years and over
  • Sore throat – 5 years and over
  • Uncomplicated UTI – women aged 16-64

Pharmacists are trained to advise and offer prescriptions for these conditions, often far quicker than your GP.
